SSC CGL Job Profile
Below are the roles and responsibilities for various job profiles recruited via the CGL conducted by the SSC:
Assistant Audit Officer under Comptroller and Audit General of India (CAG)-
- They are in charge of conducting audits in governmental organisations as well as the public sector.
- The work includes a lot of travel for audit purposes.

Assistant Accounts Officer (Intelligence Bureau)-
- Most of the employees under this role perform desk jobs on their computers.
- Some of them also work as investigating officers.
Assistant Section Officer (Ministry of Railways)-
- The primary goal of an Assistant Section Officer is to compile files and make reports.
Assistant (Ministry of External Affairs)-
- They are mostly in charge of administrative duties. The administrative duties include planning and examination of documentation, a compilation of reports and communication with the head office.
Assistant (AFHQ)-
- The primary goal of an Assistant (AFHQ) is to compile files, make reports and do other types of paperwork.

- They are expected to verify taxes on goods that pass through the Indian ports.
- They are also in charge of administrative work if they are posted in the head office.
Assistant Enforcement Officer (Revenue Department / Directorate of Enforcement)-
- They deal with the filing of documents and make brochures, presentations, etc.
- They help in the raids.
- They are in charge of gathering intel related to economic crimes such as money laundering.

Sub Inspector of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)-
- They are generally working as State Police but with more powers.
Inspector of Posts (Department of Posts)-
- They are responsible for managing about 60-70 post offices.
- They are in charge of promoting the operations of the Post Offices.

- They are expected to keep a check on illegal opium cultivation and conduct timely checks in companies that use opium.
Sub Inspector of National Investigation Agency (NIA)-

Compiler (Registrar General of India)-

- They are in charge of dispatching the opium shipment and checking for illegal cultivation of opium.
- They are also expected to ensure that there is no distribution of synthetic drugs and narcotics in the market.
