IES Engineer Salary – Perks and Allowances

Quarters or HRA (House Rent Allowance) - Officers are provided with residential quarters, but if the officer wishes to make his own arrangements HRA is provided according to the job location.

Career Growth of an IES Officer
The career progression of an IES officer is described below:

The initial posting of a candidate after clearing an IES examination is Assistant Executive Engineer or Assistant Director in any government department.

After 4 years of service, the officer can be promoted to the post of Executive Engineer or Director. It depends on their individual performance.

An officer becomes eligible to be promoted to the level of Joint General Manager or Chief Engineer of level 2 after 13 years of service.
