GSM = (453.6 grams) / (152.4 centimetres)

GSM = 2.96 * (weight in ounces per square yard) 33.91 1. 

Steps:

  1. It is a one-yard piece of the fabric in ounces.
  2. Secondly, multiply the weight of the fabric by 2.96. 
  3. Finally, add 33.91 to the multiplication result in step 2. 

This will give you the GSM of the fabric.
